While many Brothers have been involved over the years with keeping the Chapter House in decent shape, special thanks goes to Brother J. Robert (Bob) Thibodeau (Gamma Lambda ’72), an architect whose enduring dedication has been a driving force behind much of the work done to date, and planned for the future.
In addition, we are fortunate to have Brother Sal Nudo (Gamma Lambda ’81) as a consulting architect as we meet the conditions imposed by the Montreal Fire Department in October 2023.
Since 2014 several projects have been completed to both upgrade the Chapter House and to ensure compliance with existing bylaws. These include:
- Front balcony

- Rear fire escape

- Both upstairs bathrooms

New Projects
The current priority is the Chapter House windows. Here are just a few photos showing the urgent need for replacement.
As mentioned, other projects include a full renovation of the basement (bar, storage area and furnace room), new flooring in many parts of the Chapter House, installation of new carpeting, electrical work and a fresh coat of paint throughout.
Some of this work can be done by Actives and Alums, working together during a Spruce Up Weekend (TBA in the spring of 2023). Please let us know if you can lend a hand and enjoy some good times and fellowship.
